Chief Election Commissioner to visit Odisha today

Bhubaneswar: Chief Election Commissioner of India Sunil Arora will visit Odisha today to hold discussions with leaders of political parties, Government officers and Chief Electoral Officer of Odisha on various aspects relating to the upcoming Parliamentary and Assembly elections.

According to reports, Arora will meet leaders of BJD, BJP, Congress and all other political parties and seek their cooperation for holding a free and fare and an incident-free general election to be held in two-three months in the State. Similarly, he is scheduled to meet the Chief Secretary, the DGP and the Home Secretary to seek administrative and security supports required for holding elections. Besides, Arora would hold discussions with Chief Electoral Officer Surendra Kumar and other senior officers regarding various aspects relating to holding of a smooth election.
