Chartered Accountant threatened for extortion in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Aug 25: A Chartered Accountant was allegedly threatened by a group of miscreants in Ganga Nagar under Airport police limits in Bhubaneswar. Police have started an investigation after getting a formal complaint from the chartered accountant identified as Manoj Patra. Patra alleged that notorious criminal Manguli and his associates reached his house on Monday afternoon and Manguli identified himself as a contractor. The antisocial also demanded extortion. When Patra tried to resist the miscreants, they allegedly abused Patra and his family members and later ransacked the house. The miscreants also threatened him of dire consequences if he informed the matter to the police. However, Patra later lodged a formal police complaint in this connection. Police said that they have constituted a team to nab Manguli and his associates.
