Bhubaneswar: Centre will contribute Rs 700 crore for Odisha’s Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), revealed Principal Secretary of Odisha Finance Department Tuhin Kant Pandey.
The State will spend Rs 1375 crore for its own scheme while the total amount of the scheme is Rs 2027 crore, he informed.
“Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana is an umbrella scheme which includes ‘Niramaya’, ‘Nidan’, and ‘Sahaya’. It is a comprehensive healthcare scheme. Earlier there were a few services but now the range of services under the scheme has been broadened,” Pandey said at a press meet.
Earlier, Odisha government announced to boycott Centre’s Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Health Minister Pratap Jena had said the Central scheme will not benefit Odisha people.
Union Health Minister J P Nadda had urged the Odisha government to implement the central scheme for the interest of poor people in State.
