Bhubaneswar, Jan 14: The Central Bureau of Investigation has today arrested a Sub-Divisional Inspector (Postal) posted at Rairangpur, while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 15000. CBI registered a case on a complaint alleging that the Sub-Divisional Inspector (Postal) at Rairangpur Sanjit Kumar Behera has demanded a bribe of Rs 20000 from the complainant for forwarding his application for Combined Duty Allowance to the concerned Superintendent of Posts. “On negotiation, the accused agreed to accept Rs 15000 as bribe from the complainant and the remaining amount of Rs.5000 later on. We laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while demanding and accepting the bribe,” said a CBI official. The accused will be produced tomorrow before the Special Court for CBI cases at Bhubaneswar.
