Bhubaneswar: The State Cabinet today approved as many as 16 proposals moved by various departments.
The meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved proposals to amend the Secretariat Data Entry Operator and setting up a Handlooms and Handicrafts Development and Promotion Council in the State. The Odisha Fire Prevention and Fire Safety Rules 2017 also got nod of the State Cabinet.
The Cabinet also gave its nod to a proposal for upgrading the Asian School of Business Management (ASBM) to a university.
The Cabinet also approved a proposal for two rural piped drinking water projects under BASUDHA scheme for Khurda and Dhenkanal districts. As many as 2,82,951 people of 390 villages in three blocks in these two districts will be benefitted. The project will be completed within two years.
