CAA will not take away anyone's citizenship: Uddhav Thackeray after meeting PM Modi

New Delhi, Feb 21: The newly enacted Citizenship law is not to take away citizenship from anyone, but this law is about giving citizenship to the minorities of the neighboring countries and no one needs to fear about the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), said , Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray said on Friday, after meeting PM Narendra Modi. The Maharashtra Chief Minister also said the National Population Register (NPR) is not going to throw anyone out of the country. Speaking to reporters after meeting the PM, Thackeray said, “I also discussed the CAA, NPR and National Register of Citizens (NRC) with Prime Minister Modi. No one needs to fear about the CAA. The NPR is not going to throw anyone out of the country.” He also had a good discussion with the PM over issues concerning Maharashtra. This was Thackeray's first meeting with PM Modi after taking over as the chief minister of Maharashtra.
