Bhubaneswar, Feb 1: The Odisha government today reduced bus fare for all categories under automatic fare adjustment mechanism following a fall in the price of diesel. The new fare will come into effect from today.
According to a notification issued by the Commerce and Transport department on Wednesday, the fare of the ordinary and express buses has been reduced by one paise per km while that of deluxe and AC deluxe buses by two paise per km.
As per the notification the fare for ordinary bus will be 69 paise per km against 70 paise and 72 paise against 73 paise per km for the express category. Besides, deluxe category buses will now charge 99 paise per km as against Rs 1.01 per km while passengers travelling in AC deluxe buses will pay Rs 1.21 per km as against Rs 1.23 per km earlier.
