Brown sugar worth Rs 2.7 crore seized in Balasore, 2 Btech students arrested

Bhubaneswar, Mar 20: The special task force (STF) of the state Crime Branch on Thursday seized brown sugar weighing 2.73 kilogram in Balasore district and arrested two youths in this connection. The estimated value of the seized contraband would be over Rs 2.7 crore, said police. The two accused were identified as Pradip Kumar Das and Lokanath Behera, Btech students of separate private engineering colleges in the district. The accused students were active members of a big drug smuggling racket in Odisha and supplying the brown sugar to drug peddlers in Bhubaneswar and Balasore, said police.
