Bhubaneswar: In a heartrending incident, at least four persons were killed and four others sustained critical injuries as a Bolero, in which they were travelling, and a truck collided head-on at Chandola Kakadia on Cuttack-Chandbali road early this morning.
The deceased were identified as residents of a village under Rajnagar area in Kendrapara district. The deceased included a woman. Two of the deceased were identified as Bibhuti Routray and driver Subrat Behera. The injured were first rushed to a local hospital and later shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. Two of the injured are stated to be critical now.
According to reports, the ill-fated Bolero carrying eight persons of a family was on its way to Cuttack railway station. The family members had to catch a train at Cuttack railway station to go to Mumbai. As luck would have it, the vehicle hit to a 10-wheeler truck on the front as the driver could not see road due to low visibility caused by the dense fog.
Police have reached the spot and started investigation.
Reports said this is the fourth fatal accident occurred during a month in Kendrapara accident.
