Bodies of four members of a family found dead in Sundargarh

Sundargarh, Jan 11: Bodies of four persons of a family were found inside their rented house at IT Colony under Rajgangpur police limits in the district today. The deceased have been identified as Ranjit Prasad (28), his wife Chinu, three year old daughter Kanak and 18 months old baby boy. The matter came to light after his neighbours sensed foul smell emanating from the house. They later informed the police which broke open the door of the house in presence of a magistrate. The neighbours of the family said that Prasad was working as a mechanic at Dalmia-OCL plant in Rajgangpur and they have last seen the family members on Thursday morning. Prasad had taken the house on rent for past few months. Though the exact reason behind the deaths of the family members, police suspect that the family members have committed suicide. “We have sent the bodies for post-mortem to ascertain the cause of death. Further investigation in the case is continuing,” said a police official.
