Bhubaneswar: A BJP team led by State general secretary Dr Lekhashree Samantsinhgar on Wednesday met the political secretary of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas here and demanded that Dr Budhan Murmu’s resignation is accepted soon so that he can be able to file nominations for the Sarasakana Assembly seat before the last date.
According to the team, Budhan, a doctor at the Rangamatial Primary Health Centre in Mayurbhanj district, has been given a BJP ticket to fight polls from the Sarasakana Assembly seat. However, he is unable to file nominations as his resignation has not been accepted by the Government yet.
“As per the Government norms, application for voluntary retirement should be accepted within three months. Though six months have passed since Murmu submitted his resignation, the Health Department is not relieving him. For this, he has become unable to file his nomination papers,” the team told the CM’s political secretary.
The team demanded that Murmu’s resignation be accepted and he be relived from services forthwith.
