BJP moves SEC over attack on party workers in Hindol

Bhubaneswar: Demanding immediate action against the BJD workers for attacking BJP workers during the campaign for the ensuing Notified Area Council (NAC) election, a delegation of the saffron party leaders today met the State Election Commissioner Naba Kumar Nayak here.
Led by party vice-president Sameer Mohanty, the delegation also apprised the SEC about the inaction of the local police administration in taking action against the accused.
“Police are not taking action against the ruling party workers even after lodging the complaint. It is condemnable,” said Mohanty.
Sources said two BJP workers identified as Prashnat Panda, who is in-charge in ward number 7 of the Hindol NAC and former sarpanch Manjulata were injured in the attack and admitted to the Dhenkanal DHH.
They were attack when they were campaigning along with former party MP Rudra Narayan Pani in the NAC.
