Bhubaneswar: With the Election Commission of India is expected to announce dates for general and Assembly elections soon, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today claimed that the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) will do extremely well in the polls.
“The Biju Janata Dal will do extremely well in the forthcoming elections,” Patnaik told media persons at the Secretariat here.
The term of the present Assembly will end on June 11. Despite being in power for 19 years, the BJD stewarded by Patnaik continues to be untouched by anti-incumbency.
Earlier on several occasions, Patnaik had said that he did not feel that the BJD will face an anti-incumbency factor because of the Government’s development programmes and welfare schemes, which are doing well in the State.
