BJD MP Sasmit Patra nominated to Rajya Sabha Vice-Chairman’s panel

Bhubaneswar, July 24: BJD’s Rajya Sabha MP Sasmit Patra has been nominated to the panel of Vice-Chairmen of the Upper House.Patra became the first Odia MP in 20 years to be nominated to Vice-Chairmen panel of Rajya Sabha The Chairman of the Rajya Sabha today reconstituted the panel in which Patra has been inducted with five others. The other five members are Bhubaneswar Kalita, Vandana Chavan, Sukhendu Sekhar Ray, Surendra Singh Nagar and L Hanumanthaiah. In January Patra has also been nominated as a Member of the Departmental Consultative Committee on External Affairs. Patra is also the current spokesperson of the ruling BJD. Patra has expressed his deep gratitude to Odisha Chief Minister and BJD President Naveen Patnaik for having nominated him to Rajya Sabha and having given him the opportunity in the first place. He also expressed his gratitude to Chairman, Rajya Sabha for his induction in the Vice-Chairmen panel.
