BJD calls for stir to protest against fuel price hike

Bhubaneswar: The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today decided to resort to a three-day agitation from September 7 protesting against the all-time fuel price hike.

During the period, the party workers would hold awareness campaign and hold peaceful agtation in front of all the petrol pumps across the State for two hours by distributing leaflets, said party general secretary Arun Sahu in a press conference at the party headquarters here.

“On September 7, 8 and 9, our party workers will hold awareness campaign in front of all the petrol pumps in the State for two hours between 10 am to 12 noon,” said Sahu.

He demanded immediate measures to curb the price hike and slammed the inefficiency of the Central Government and Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for the steep rise in petrol and diesel prices.
