Biju's samadhi shifted from Swargadwar

Puri, 19/12: Samadhi or grave yard of legendary figure former chief minister Biju Patnaik was shifted from the Swagadwar crematorium here last night with utmost respect and care. Biju Patnaik was cremated at Swargadwar after his death on April 17, 2017 at New Delhi. {"id":22231,"sizeSlug":"large"} Chief minister Naveen Patnaik had recently decided to shift his father Biju Babu's samadhi from Swargadwar while sanctioning Rs 5 crore for the expansion and development of the public crematorium in the pilgrim city. The district administration executed the chief minister's announcement and shifted his samadhi from a land measuring about half a decimal. The place evicted by the district administration for the expansion and renovation of Swargadwar has been covered by the tin sheets. The renovation of Swargadwar is being carried out on the pattern of Maha Prasthanam scheme of Andhra Pradesh by the Phoenix Foundation. {"id":22232,"sizeSlug":"large"} Demand is being raised for construction of park on the Puri-Konark marine drive or elsewhere for the commemoration of the memory of Biju Patnaik.
