New Delhi, Feb 1: Offering hefty packages the Centre has allocated Rs 30,757 crore for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Rs 5,958 crore for Ladakh. Deposit insurance cover will be hiked to Rs five lakh from Rs one lakh. Rs 100 crore allocated for preparations to host G-20 Presidency in 2022. Taxpayers Charter to be instituted. Data-Centre Parks to be built throughout the country. Rs 4,400 crore allocated for cities to ensure clean air. Rs 2,500 crore allocated for tourism promotion. Rs 3,150 crore allocated for Ministry of Culture. Five archaeological sites to be developed as Iconic Sites with on-sight museums; a Tribal Museum will be set up in Ranchi. Indian Institute of Heritage and Conservation to be set up. Rs 85,000 crore allocated for SCs and OBCs; Rs 53,700 crore allocated for STs. Rs 28,600 allocated for women-specific programme. Rs 9,500 crore allocated for senior citizens and divyangs. Finance Minister allocates Rs 27,300 cr for development of industry and commerce. Investment clearance cell announced to facilitate single-window clearance. More TEJAS-type trains will connect iconic tourist destinations. Rs 35,600 crore allocated for nutrition-related programme for 2020-21. 100 more airports will be developed by 2024. Huge employment opportunities exist for India’s youth in construction, operation & maintenance of infrastructure; Project Preparation Facility will involve young engineers, management graduates and economists from our universities, said the Finance Minister. Scheme proposed for encouraging manufacturing of mobile phones, electronic equipment and semi-conductor packaging. Allocation for education sector is Rs 99,300 crore for 2020-21. Total allocation proposed for Swachh Bharat is Rs 12,300 crore. Village Storage Scheme to be run by Self-Help Groups (SHGs); we want to restore women in villages as ‘Daanya Lakshmis’. Indian Railways to set up a ‘Kisan Rail’ for perishable goods like milk, meat and fish to build a seamless national cold-supply chain. ‘Krishi Udaan’ will be launched by Ministry of Civil Aviation on international and national routs to help improve value realisation, especially north-east and tribal districts.
