Bhubaneswar: Green corridor makes way to shift critical patient to airport from Nayapalli in 7 min

Bhubaneswar, Oct 23: A green corridor was created between Nayapalli and Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in the city today to shift a critical patient. The patient was then carried in an air ambulance to KIMS, Hyderabad for advanced treatment. The Commissionerate Police turned all the traffic signals in the route green and controlled manually for nonstop running of the ambulance. The air ambulance will take around one and a half hours to Hyderabad and then the patient will be rushed to the hospital in a similar green corridor, sources said. According to media reports, the patient, identified as Abhay Kumar Jena of Bramhagiri area in Puri district, had earlier tested positive for Covid-19 and recovered from the infection. He had undergone a surgery in which an artificial lung was implanted and he was stable.
