Bhubaneswar continues to reel under severe heatwave conditions

Bhubaneswar: For the second consecutive day, Bhubaneswar recorded the highest day temperature of 41.7 degree Celsius on Wednesday.

The other cities which recorded day temperature above 40 degree Celsius included Angul 41.1 degree Celsius, Titlagarh 41 degree Celsius, Malkangiri 40.5 degree Celsius and Cuttack 39.4 degree Celsius.

Notably, Bhubaneswar recorded the highest temperature of 43.7 degree Celsius on Tuesday while maximum humidity in the capital city was as high as 94%. The highest temperature in the month of April in Bhubaneswar was recorded 45.8 degree Celsius on April 11, 2016.

Besides Bhubaneswar, as many as ten places recorded day temperature above 40 degree Celsius on Tuesday, around three degrees above the normal. Other towns that recorded high temperature on Tuesday include Talcher 43.3 degree Celsius, Angul 42.7 degree Celsius, Titilagarh 42 degree Celsius and Cuttack 41.1 degree Celsius.
