Bhubaneswar airport to scan passengers for Coronavirus

Bhubaneswar, Jan 27: As the death toll from the Coronavirus outbreak in China climbed to 80 today, Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) has made all arrangements to screen passengers. A medical team of Capital Hospital has been deployed at the BPIA to screen passengers coming from China. The move comes after Odisha government directed directors of Biju Patnaik International Airport and Jharsuguda Airport on Sunday to facilitate screening of passengers coming from China. The state health department has issued toll free number – 0674 2390466, 9439994857 for novel Coronavirus. The department has also decided to set up a control room to facilitate people to inform cases of the infection. The department has urged passengers returning from China and felling discomfort to get them tested at District Headquarters Hospitals, government medical colleges and Capital Hospital at Bhubaneswar. The death toll from novel Coronavirus has spiked to 80 while nearly 2800 have been infected, China announced on early Monday.
