Bhadrak, March 26: A retired Sanskrit teacher, Pandit Dayanidhi Dash of Kuansa area in the district has donated his one month pension money to the Chief Minister’s relief fund to fight the deadly coronavirus.
The 62-year-old-teacher has donated Rs 30,000 and submitted a cheque at the Bhadrak Collector office today.
Speaking to prameyanews.com Dash said, “I was inspired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik after he donated his three month salary to fight against the coronavirus. Then I decided to donate my one month pension to the Chief Minister’s relief fund for the people of my state during the COVID-19 breakout. I would be happy if my small contribution is being used for the people of my state.”
Pandit Dash was awarded by the President of India on 5 September (Teacher’s Day) in 2012.
Worth mentioning, Odisha government so far has tested 164 samples for Covid-19, informed Subroto Bagchi, spokesperson of Odisha government on COVID-19. Bagchi said that while 162 samples were tested negative for the deadly virus, the number of coronavirus affected persons in the state still stands at two.
