Bhadrak police collects penalty of Rs 2.3 lakh from vehicle owners for lockdown violation

Bhadrak, April 27: Bhadrak police today collected a penalty of Rs 2.3 lakh from vehicle owners for violation of Covid-19 regulations. The district police have also arrested eight persons today. As per reports, Town police station penalized the maximum number of vehicles with 81 while Tihidi police station penalized as many as 39 vehicles. Similarly Dhusuri police station seized another 35 vehicles. Besides police also penalized as many as 48 persons for not wearing masks and collected a penalty of Rs 9600.Bhadrak police has decided to impose a penalty of Rs 5000 for four wheeler and Rs 2000 for two- wheeler during lockdown. Police said that penalty collected will be utilized towards Covid-19 management. “Any vehicle reaching any market with or without vehicle pass will be seized. The crackdown will be intensified from Tuesday,” said a police official.
