Bhawanipatna, Aug 21: Four persons were injured in wild bear attack after the wild animal strayed into Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district today. Forest officials have launched an operation to capture the animal. As per reports, the bear started attacking people after locals tried to drive it out. Panic gripped the area after the bear continued to play a hide and seek game. Forest official rushed to the spot and tried to bring the situation under control. Forest officials said that attempts to tranquilise the animal went in vein. “We have urged the locals not to venture out of their houses until the animal is captured. We are trying our best to capture the animal at the earliest possible,” said a forest official. Earlier in a similar incident on August 15, a bear strayed into the town, and it was captured and released in the forest.
