‘Banchibaku Hele’ depicts misuse of feminine freedom

Bhubaneswar, Feb 24: Misuse of feminine freedom by modern women was the highlight of Odia drama ‘Banchibaku Hele’ staged at Biju Natya Kendra last evening. A woman is a central point in the social structure. However, some of the modern women derive sadistic pleasure by purportedly mental torture on the in-laws in the name of feminine freedom. This was the central theme of the Odia drama staged by Utkal Theatre, Bhubaneswar. The play was written by Niranjan Reddy and directed by Kailash Mohapatra. The major starcast was played by Govind Udit, Rajeev, Kailash, Bhakti, Upendra and Baby Rojalin. The play was performed as a part of Natyachakra, the monthly programme of Satabdira Kalakar. Dhira Mallick and Darpa Narayan Sethi of Satabdira Kalakar, Lala Biren Ray and Haren Sahoo of drama group graced the occasion as guests.
