Balangir hottest with 40.7 °C in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, June 1: The Indian Meteorological Department, Bhubaneswar has recorded the highest maximum temperature of 40.7 degree Celsius at Balangir on Monday.

With the entire state sizzling under intense heat, the maximum temperature soared above 40 degree Celsius in at least two places, according to the Meteorological Centre.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, Balangir recorded the highest temperature followed by Sonepur at 40.6 degree Celsius.

The maximum temperature in state capital Bhubaneswar was 35.4 degree Celsius, while the mercury touched 35.5 degree Celsius in Cuttack city.
