Bhubaneswar: A state of fear of flood has prevailed in villages along the Baitarani River as it is now flowing above the danger level at different places in Bhadrak district due to incessant rains.

According to information, the river’s water level at Akhuapada was recorded at 18.03 metre against the danger level of 17.83 metre. The overflowing has triggered a panic in the low-lying areas under Dhamnagar and Bhandaripokhari blocks.

It is informed that thousands of acres of paddy land have been submerged due to heavy rains that continued for the last two days by the impact of the Cyclone Titli.
