New Delhi, 9/11: In a historic judgment, the Supreme Court today ordered construction of a temple in the disputed site at Ayodhya and allotment of alternative land for building a mosque.
The apex court said that the construction of the temple would be managed by a Trust. The temple construction would be carried out on inner and outer court yards. The Centre in three months would have to bring in a scheme setting up a trust or appropriate body to construct a temple
The Sunni Board would be given 5 acres of land for construction of the mosque. But the land would not be given in the inner courtyard on which the mosque once stood.
The judgment was delivered by a 5 member-bench headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi amidst tight security today. Security around the Supreme Court premises was tightened since last night and adequate security cover was given to the five judges.
