Artistes and disciples pay tribute to Dr. Dinanath Pathi

Bhubaneswar, Aug 29: Artistes and disciples of eminent artist, author and art historian Dr. Dinanath Pathi paid tribute to the legend on his 4th anniversary by garlanding his statue here in the premises of BK College of Art and Crafts. Born in Digapahandi village of Ganjam district on May 9 in 1942, Dr pathy was one of the pioneers of the contemporary art movement in Odisha. He was a recipient of President of India Silver Plaque for painting and his works were showcased in art galleries and museums in Malasia, England, Japan, Europe and a few to name. Dr. Pathy was also a curator of Arts and Crafts in the Odisha State Museum from 1972 to 1979 and was the founder principal of the Government BK College of Art and Crafts in Bhubaneswar. He was also the secretary of the National Academy of Art, New Delhi from 1994 to 1996 and was the Director of Alice Boner Institute, Varanasi for several years. He had also held the secretary of Rashtriya Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi and president post of Rashtriya Lalit Kala Akademi in Bhubaneswar. The legend passed away on August 29 in 2016.
