Bhubaneswar, April 27: Angul town recorded the highest maximum temperature of 44.7°C on Friday while Bhubaneswar sizzled 44.6°C, the 2nd highest in Odisha.

As many as 14 stations reported 43°C or more and 33 places recorded 40°C or more day temperature today, said the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre.

Due to prevailing mainly Northwesterly/Westerly dry air and high solar insolation day temperature is very likely to further rise slightly by 2°C at many places over the districts of Odisha during next 24 hours, it added.

Consequently, maximum temperature (Day Temperature) is likely to be above normal by 4 to 6°C over some districts of Odisha during next 4 to 5 days.

It has advised people to take precautionary measure while going outside during peak hours of the day time between 11 am and 3 pm.
