Akshay Kumar contributes Rs 25 crore to PM CARES Fund

New Delhi, Mar 29: Bollywood star Akshay Kumar contributed Rs 25 crore soon after Prime minister Narendra Modi on Saturday announced the launch of a new fund to combat the COVID-19 situation. The Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund or PM CARES Fund was set up following spontaneous and innumerable requests for making generous donations to support the government in the wake of coronavirus emergency. The Prime Minister is the Chairman of this trust and its members include Defence Minister, Home Minister and Finance Minister.
