Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate police today issued an advisory for the political parties and candidates for organising public meetings and roadshows in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
Political parties and candidates will soon start their campaigning to woo voters as the State will go to Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in four phases starting April 11. So to ensure a smooth campaigning in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, Commissionerate police came up with instructions for the poll candidates. It also asked them to follow the Election Commission’s guidelines strictly.
As per the advisory, the candidates of the political parties have to take prior permission of the police to hold meeting, rallies and roadshows.
The advisory further started that road shows, subject to court orders and local laws, will be held only on holidays and during non-peak hours, on routes other than those having big hospitals, Trauma Centers, Blood Banks and heavily crowded markets.
