Bhubaneswar, Feb 10: The Adivasi Mela 2020 recorded a business of over Rs eight crore this year that concluded on Sunday. The 15-day event, which starts on January 26 every year at Unit IV IDCO Exhibition Ground here, not only offers the unique products produced by the tribal, but also showcases their culture and daily life. Spices, herbs, tribal jewellery handloom and handicrafts are most sought after items at the Adivasi Mela. {"id":26263,"sizeSlug":"large"} The scheduled castes (SC) and scheduled tribes (ST) development department hosts the fair. Hundreds of visitors from German, Europe, Japan, Netherland, Russia and Singapore like countries visited the fair this year, informed the state SC and ST development department. “As many as 262 stalls were set up at the ground while tribal from 12 states were serving their traditional food at the stalls. As many as 70 CCTVs were installed at the venue as safety measure, said an official. Tribal delicacies at the food court were the main attraction this year. Tribal cuisines of 13 states were available at the food court along with Odisha tribal delicacies. The colourful fair showcases tribal market, tribal food court, tribal agriculture produces and forest produces.
