A number of marriages violating COVID-19 norm found at Balakati,Rs 10,000 fine levied

Balianta, July 13: Even though the state government as well as the Centre asked the people to strictly follow the COVID-19 guidelines, many cases of coronavirus norm violation have been reported from Balianta on the outskirt of Odisha Capital City Bhubaneswar.

The local residents here also alleged that the police are not taking actions against the violators even after being informed in this regard.

In an incident reported from Balakati, hundreds of people were seen gathering at a temple premises to attend several marriage functions, openly violating the social distancing norms.

According to sources, at least six marriage ceremonies were being carried at Dulla Dei temple, where hundreds of people were present and found violating social distancing.

On being informed, police reached the spot and stopped the marriages. Fine of Rs 10,000 was also collected from the violating marriage parties.
