915 grams of brown sugar seized by Commissionerate police between Sept and Dec

Bhubaneswar, Jan 11: The Drug Task Force of Commissionerate police has detected as many as 39 narcotics cases between September and December and has seized brown sugar weighing 915 grams. Police said that they have also arrested 80 persons during this period for their involvement in illegal trade of brown sugar. Police said that they have also seized ganja weighing 227.5 kilograms during the period. “We have seized cash worth Rs 5.3 lakh, 27 motorcycles, five cars and 60 mobile phones from the accused,” said a police official. Police said that the unit was constituted to keep a tab on the illegal trade of narcotics in the state capital and its adjoining areas. “The drive against narcotics will be intensified and we are also trying to nab the suppliers of narcotics,” said a police official.
