Bhubaneswar: The State has recorded a polling percentage of 71.61 per cent in phase three of Lok Sabha and Assembly elections that was conducted on Tuesday, informed Chief Electoral Officer Surendra Kumar today.
While the first phase of polling on April 11, held for four Lok Sabha seats and 28 Assembly segments, recorded 73.76 per cent voting, the second phase balloting, conducted for five Lok Sabha and 42 Assembly segments recorded 72.56 per cent turnout.
In the third phase, balloting was held simultaneously in six Lok Sabha constituencies – namely, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Sambalpur, Keonjhar and Dhenkanal and 42 Assembly constituencies under them.
Keonjhar registered the highest voter turnout of 78.16% followed by Sambalpur with 76.38%, Dhenkanal- 74.98%, Cuttack -69.65%, Puri -72.53% and Bhubaneswar -59.60%.
There were 92, 56, 322 registered voters in the third phase.
