Nuapada, Feb 1: Normal life was disrupted in Nuapda district following a six-hour bandh demanding medical college in the district.
The bandh, which started at 7 am, is scheduled to end at 12 noon.
The streets and markets wore a deserted look as government and private offices and business establishments remained closed.
The protesters blocked National Highway 353 staging a sit in at Ekata quare in the town.
The district lawyers association has called the bandh to press their long-standing demand for establishment of a medical college in the district.
Other organisations, civic bodies and business associations have extended their support to the bandh.
