5T secretary visits Cuttack, reviews health service in SCB hospital

Cuttack, Jan 22: A day before Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s visit to Cuttack, 5T secretary VK Pandian visited the SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCBMCH) on Wednesday. The 5T secretary arrived at SCBMCH campus in the wee hours today and enquired about the health services at the premier institute. Accompanied by housing and urban development secretary G Mathi Vathanan, water resourses secretary Surendra Kumarand works department secretary Krishan Kumar, Pandian visited different wards and interacted with patients and hospital authorities, including the hospital superintendent. The team then attended a review meeting at the Maritime Museum at Jobra. The team later visited Hadia Patha on the bank of river Mahanadi, where the proposed site of the second SCBMCH campus will come up. Notably, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced to develop the SCBMCH into an integrated hospital with all modern healthcare facilities with total bed strength of 3,000. The Chief Minister is scheduled to lay foundation stone of various developmental projects in SCBMCH campus on Thursday.
