5 new Covid-19 positive cases detected in Cuttack city

Cuttack, July 7: Out of the 29 new COVID-19 positive cases reported in Cuttack district on Tuesday, five cases were detected under the jurisdiction of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC). Of the five cases, three persons were in home quarantine. A 10-year-old boy and a 35-year-old woman from Shankarpur colony, Badambadi, belonging to one family were in home quarantine. They are contact of a previous known positive case from AHRCC. A 29-year-old positive woman from Fandi Road, Mangalabag is a Covid warrior. The fourth case, a 25-year-old woman, was in institutional quarantine at SCB Medical isolation ward. The fifth case, a 65-year-old man from Kanika Road, was local contact case. Active surveillance, contact tracing and sanitization of the concerned areas are underway, said CMC. The total number of Covid-19 positive cases reached 198 with detection of the new cases. Of the total cases, 22 have already recovered. The number of active cases stands at 174 and two persons have succumbed to the disease.
