34 new Covid cases detected in Malkangiri: Details here

Malkangiri, Aug 4: As many as 34 new Covid-19 positive cases were detected in the district today, the state health department said. The district administration has released area wise detection of the cases. While 19 cases were symptomatic, 15 cases were asymptomatic. As many as 26 cases were reported under the jurisdiction of Malkangiri Municipality. When 20 cases were found close contacts of previously found positive cases, six cases were referral from Flu & Fever Clinic. Other three cases were frontline health workers. Three cases were reported in Balimela NAC – two cases were referral from Flu & Fever Clinic and one was detected during house hold survey. Two cases in Chitrakonda block – one case was close contact with previously found positive case and another case was detected during house hold survey. The lone case of Malkangiri block was from Kadabahal village, referral from Flu & Fever Clinic. The Kalimela block case was returnee of West Bengal and was in isolation centre. The Khoirput block case was detected from Pandraguda village, a close contact with previously found positive case. As many as 663 positive cases have been reported in the district so far. With two deaths and 420 recoveries, the district has 241 active cases.
