Bhubaneswar: A day after such a move, police rescued as many as 34 migrant workers from the Tureikela railway station in Bolangir district early this morning.
According to police, the Tureikela police, on being informed about the migrant labourers, rushed to the railway station and asked the workers where they were going. As they said they were going outside in search of work but didn’t reveal about their destination, police detained them.
All the workers belonged to Nunahada village under the Belapada police station in the district.
It may be noted that nine migrant workers, including seven children, had been rescued from the Kantabanji railway station in the district yesterday. They all belonged to Juba area under the Belpada block in the district. Further investigations are on, said police.
