336 units of plasma collected so far from 168 donors at SCB Medical College for treatment of Covid-19 patients

Cuttack, Aug 23: As many as 336 units of plasma have been collected from 168 donors at SCB Medical College while 287 units have been used for treatment of serious Covid patients, informed Cuttack Collector, Bhabani Shankar Chayani. The Collector said that a sensitization programme is going on to intensify plasma donation. Chayani while highlighting on Covid situation in Cuttack district said that a total number of 69,217 samples were tested through RT-PCR and Antigen testing, out of which 5,174 positive have been identified. “As of today, number of positive stands at 1,957 and 3,217 in rural and urban areas respectively. 1,734 persons are under treatment and recovery rate stands at 65.77%,” he added. He further said that the Chief Minister has allocated a sum of Rs 15 Crore from CMRF for strengthening of health infrastructure in the district. “Besides, Rs 6. 84 crore has been provided for health care facilities at Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre and Covid Care Homes,” said Chayani.
