Bhubaneswar: As many as 3,166 State Government employees working at different levels of hierarchy have been promoted in a week in the State, said an official release.
According to a statement of the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the promotions have been effected in 39 departments and 30 districts across Group A-D.
Of the total 3,166 promoted employees, 852 employees belonged to Group-A followed by 527 in Group-B, 1596 in Group C and 291 in Group D category. A total of 12,932 employees, including 3,139 employees have been promoted at district level in 2019.
Notably, expressing concern over delay, mischief and irregularity in granting promotion to Class IV and Class III employees in the State, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on December 23, ordered all departments to complete procedure for promotion of Government employees by December 31 very year. He had also asked the officials to grant promotion to the eligible employees by January 1.
