3 villagers critical in jumbo attack in Dhenkanal

Bhubaneswar: In another incident of man-animal conflict, three villagers were critically injured as an elephant attacked them at Rasasingh village under Dhenkanal Sadar police limits early this morning.

The injured, identified as Gouranga Swain, Saraswati Mohanty and Atishree Mohanty, have been admitted to the Dhenkanal District Headquarter Hospital (DHH).

According to reports, the three villagers were going to a nearby railway station to board a train, when a pachyderm came all of a sudden and attacked them.  A state if fear has gripped the area following the incident.

Notably, at least four incidents of elephant attacking villagers have been reported at different places in Dhenkanal district during the last 30 days.
