Bhubaneswar: Three teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) reached Jagatsinghpur district to combat the possible impact of the Cyclone Fani, which is likely to make landfall on the Odisha coast on May 3 afternoon.

According to information, a total of 12 NDRF teams will be deployed to conduct rescue operations in different coastal districts.

It may be noted that Jagatsinghpur district was the worst affected in the Super Cyclone in 1999 in which thousands of people were washed away from Paradip and Erasama area in high tides of the Bay Bengal.
