29 BSF jawans in Malkangiri test positive for Covid-19

Malkangiri, June 30: As many as 29 jawans from Border Security Force (BSF) deployed in the district are among the 36 latest positive Covid-19 cases in the district, officials said today. “The jawans have been accommodated in the Malybanta Boys Hostel of Junior Science College and Girls Hostel. They had returned from Bihar, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttarpradesh and West Bengal,” said the official. The total number of BSF jawans infected so far in Malkangiri district increased to 35 with the detection of latest cases. Erlier six BSF jawans had also contracted the virus. The number of Covid-19 positive cases in Odisha crossed 7000 mark after 206 new cases were detected on Tuesday.
