Rayagada, May 28: As many as 27 Odia migrants returning from Gujarat fled from a Shramik Special trains at Khandadhar gate near Muniguda in the district after the train was halted near the gate on Thursday evening.
According to reports, all the Odia migrants including a child were returning to the state from Vadodara in Gujarat. They de-boarded from the special train, after it stopped near the railway crossing gate.
On being informed a team of RPF rushed to the spot detained them. Later handed over all the migrants to the local administration.
All the 27 migrants are residents of Rayagada, Kalahandi and Kandhamal districts. They were returning to the state by a special train Balasore- bound train.
Earlier, around 200 migrants de-boarded a special train by pulling an emergency chain near Chhatrapur railway station in Ganjam district. The train was enroute to Khurda Road from Hyderabad when the returnees pulled the chain and fled. However, around 60 of them have been detained by the Railway Protection Force.
