20 ft long king cobra strays into human habitation

Nilgiri, 6/12: Villagers in Nilgiri area of Balasore district were panicked due to king cobra scare as a 20 ft long wild reptile strayed into Jokalanda village from the forest. {"id":21582,"sizeSlug":"large"} According to reports, the villagers had seen the king cobra in a tamarind tree in the garden of Radheshyam Mohapatra yesterday. On being informed wildlife expert Prakash Mardaraj, Gayadhar Behera, Susant Mohapatra and Biraja Behera rushed to the spot and tried to catch the reptile. {"id":21583,"sizeSlug":"large"} However, they could not be successful despite their efforts for several hours. Hence, they tried to rescue the snake by felling the tamarind tree. However, the tree fell into a pond and the king cobra escaped. The panicked villagers have remained indoors out of snake scare.
