Bhubaneswar: In what can be termed as prevalence of a sheer law and order problem, two persons were killed in two separate incidents under the Nakatideula area in Sambalpur district last night.
In the first incident, the deceased was identified as Sushant Behera, a resident of Jharabeda village. Sushant had allegedly owed a hand loan to a co-villager for a few months now. On Thursday afternoon, three villagers called him to a secluded place and hacked him to death with an axe as he did not repay the hand loan.
The police have now detained the three persons and are interrogating them.
In the second incident, a body of a man was found from the roadside under the same area. The body was identified as Bana Rout of Keutabareni village. While the reason behind his death was yet to be known, the incident is suspected to be a case of murder.
Acting on the comlaint of his family members, the Nakatideula police have recovered the body and started investigation.
