Bhubaneswar: as many as 1934 branches out of 1992 banks are made functional in cyclone Fani-ravaged six districts in the State.
This was revealed at the State-Centre finance coordination meeting today. The meeting was held to take stock of the banking system post cyclone Fani.
“Barring Cooperative and Grameen banks, as many as 1934 bank branches out of 1992 are functional. Over 2,000 ATMs out of 2921 are also up and running,” said State Finance Secretary Ashok Meena.
He said that banks have been asked to priorities MSME, farmers and businessmen and personal-related loans in cyclone affected districts.
The State-Centre finance coordination meeting was held at State Guest House here under the chairmanship of Union Finance Ministry’s Additional Secretary Debasish Panda.
