15,000 workers on repair, restoration jobs in city

Bhubaneswar: As many as 15,000 technicians and workers have been engaged by various Governments and the BMC to restore normalcy in the State capital of Bhubaneswar, which has been ravaged by Cyclone Fani recently.

According to information, the CESU has engaged over 3,000 technicians and workers in power restoration work. Power disruption has pained the denizens the most.

About 4,000 employees are now engaged by the Public Health Engineering Department for repair and renovation works. Similarly, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation has engaged over 3,000 workers in waste clearing work. Over 2,000 people have been engaged by the Works Deprtment to clear broken trees from roads in the city.

These apart, the NDRF, the ODRAF and the Fire Services have put over 2,000 people to work in their respective field works.
